Frequently asked questions
Xperience by Kentico uses a flexible licensing model based on channels. Customers purchase a platform license (SaaS or a Private cloud) that includes one main channel, with additional channels available to purchase.
Add-on channels purchased with/at the same time as the Platform license are cheaper than those bought at some point in the future. Therefore, up-front bulk acquisition of multiple channels is better value per channel.
Xperience by Kentico supports three main channel types:
- Web Channels: Primary websites linked to a domain or subdomain.
- Email Channels: Dedicated email marketing domains.
- Headless Channels: Content delivery for apps, kiosks, or SPAs etc., via GraphQL endpoints.
A Microchannel is limited by content volume shared on the channel. This limitation varies according the channel type (web, email, or headless Microchannel). Product features are not limited in Microchannels.

- Standard Tier is designed for single-channel, basic CMS needs. You cannot add additional main channels.
- Advanced Tier includes advanced features, supports multi-channel strategies, and allows for the addition of main channels.
Kentico’s SaaS option includes a fixed-cost subscription that includes the Xperience by Kentico license and pre-defined cloud resources (Cloud Levels 1 or 2). Customers can customize their setup using SaaS Resource Upgrades, enabling increases to bandwidth, email limits, or storage. Alternatively, a bespoke, custom cloud option can be arranged.
