The Chief Revenue Officer role is crucial to achieve that alignment in the majority of successful companies. Kentico has been focused on the commercial and go-to-market alignment for a while, and bringing the experienced leader to strengthen this approach is key for future growth.
The team asked Bill to respond to some questions, and he tackled them with the enthusiasm of a dedicated New England Patriots fan that he is. While he spent most of his career in Boston, he's originally from Montreal. His move to Boston in the early '90s marked the beginning of his career journey you're about to discover.
Why did you join Kentico?
Reflecting on my journey to Kentico, I first became aware of the company a few years ago due to my background in website experimentation and conversion optimization. Kentico's name frequently surfaced in projects we undertook at my previous company.
So, why Kentico? The opportunity presented by Kentico in the marketplace was highly intriguing to me. The move into the SaaS platform aligns with my background, and I've experienced such transitions before. What truly solidified my decision was meeting the remarkable individuals during the onboarding process. It made joining Kentico an increasingly attractive prospect.
What is your vision and role at Kentico?
At Kentico, I envision our role as providing an easy-to-use, easy-to-deploy tool that empowers marketers to achieve their goals. We are a company that collaborates effectively with partners in the industry. Our platform facilitates digital transformation within organizations and harnesses digital exploitation, enabling marketers and developers to capitalize on opportunities. I prefer not to focus solely on product features but rather emphasize what our product can deliver and how it aligns with an organization's objectives.
Can you tell us about your journey in B2B software?
Over my career in B2B software, I've witnessed remarkable changes in product capabilities and delivery methods. We've transitioned from distributing physical media like CDs to today's Software as a Service (SaaS) model, where users expect seamless access. The SaaS world has become the norm, where users prefer ease of use and minimal implementation effort. Kentico's journey into the SaaS model aligns perfectly with these expectations, offering tremendous growth potential.
Before joining Kentico, I was the CRO of SiteSpect. My time at Kaspersky Lab is also important because it was a time of growth and opportunity there. Leading sales teams of multiple sizes through different segment sizes to grow the Kaspersky business in North America is an important piece of my background.
