Full-text search provides you the search functionality out-of-the-box, without having to purchase any additional products. It searches Kentico CMS database content and optionally the uploaded files. You can choose to search for exact phrase, any word or all words.
If your SQL Server 2000 or 2005 has the SQL Server Full-text Search Engine installed, you can have the SQL Server index and search uploaded documents, such as DOC, XLS, PPT or PDF.
You can specify which site sections and document types should be searchable and you can also customize the SQL queries used by the search engine to modify the search results. It's also possible to write your own search provider and integrate third-party search engine if necessary.
